A good paint job has its secrets and also the right preparation. For best paint results, follow the guidelines:

1.Surface preparation

  • The surface to be painted must be completely dry, clean free from dirt, grease, mold, etc.
  • The surface to be painted and especially the new surfaces must be properly prepared with the appropriate surface primer.
  • For already painted surfaces, any loose or peeling old paint should be removed from the surface before repainting. Application of a suitable primer is recommended if the surface is problematic.
  • Glossy surfaces should be sanded (with sandpaper) in order to be rough, so the paint will better adhere to the surface.

2.Product thinning

  • In order to have the expected color results, the product must be thinned according to the directions for use.
  • When thinning products that are diluted with solvents use the proposed solvents that are compatible with the paint.

3.Paint tools

  • Clean tools before use and be careful not to use tools that have dried up from previous usage.
  • Tools should be appropriate for the surface and also for the product that will be used.

4.Application conditions

  • In order to achieve excellent results and to avoid spoilage, the general rule states that products should not be used at temperatures below 50C, under conditions of high humidity or if surfaces are exposed to the sun during application.

5.Product storage

  • Cans used and ready for storage must be well closed.
  • For long-term storage, the product should be kept indoors in order to avoid its exposure to very low or high temperatures as well as to high humidity conditions.
  • Avoid storing water based products after being diluted as it can cause unpleasant odors in the product.
